Guwahati, Sept 28: The Jagannath Temple-themed pandal at Basistha has emerged as one of the most visited spots of this year’s Durga Puja celebrations in Guwahati.
Designed to replicate the sacred aura of Odisha’s iconic temple, the pandal combines intricate carvings, traditional motifs, and temple-style architecture to transport devotees into a spiritual space. The idol of Goddess Durga, placed against the backdrop of the replica temple structure, adds to the grandeur of the experience.
Organisers say the aim was to give Guwahati residents a chance to feel the devotion and magnificence of the Jagannath Temple without leaving the city. “We wanted to bring spiritual heritage closer to people here. The overwhelming response from visitors shows the idea has touched hearts,” a committee member shared.
With steady footfall throughout the day, the Basistha pandal is being hailed as a must-visit attraction, blending artistry, faith, and cultural pride this Puja season.
