Regular Services of Two Amrit Bharat Trains to Begin from Jan 30

Regular operations of two newly introduced Amrit Bharat Express trains, Kamakhya–Rohtak and Dibrugarh–Gomti Nagar, will begin from January 30 under the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR), improving long-distance rail connectivity for Guwahati and the wider Northeast. The trains were flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 18.

Railway officials said the services are expected to ease travel demand on key north–south and east–west corridors linking Assam with northern India.

Regular services of the Kamakhya–Rohtak and Dibrugarh–Gomti Nagar Amrit Bharat Express trains will begin from January 30 under the Northeast Frontier Railway. The weekly trains will enhance connectivity between Assam and northern India, with Guwahati serving as a key halt on the Dibrugarh–Gomti Nagar route.

Major halts include: Rangiya Jn, Barpeta Road, New Bongaigaon, Kokrajhar, New Coochbehar, New Jalpaiguri, Kishanganj, Barsoi Jn, Katihar Jn, Barauni Jn, Varanasi, Prayagraj Jn, and Delhi Jn.

The service is expected to benefit passengers from western Assam by providing a direct weekly link to Haryana and the Delhi NCR region.

Both Amrit Bharat Express trains will have 20 coaches, comprising:

  • 7 Sleeper Class
  • 10 General Second Class
  • 2 SLR/D coaches
  • 1 Pantry Car

Railway officials said the configuration is designed to cater to long-distance passengers, including migrant workers, students, and families.
