Guwahati, September 20: The Assam Government, along with the Guwahati Police, has announced detailed arrangements for the public to pay their final respects to the legendary singer Zubeen Garg. His mortal remains will be kept at Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium, Sarusajai, on September 21, from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

Traffic & Parking Regulations
Considering the massive turnout expected, the Guwahati Traffic Police has issued special guidelines to ensure smooth movement:
- Entry & Exit Points:
- Entry for the public has been designated through Gate 1A (Rongmon Point, NH-27).
- After paying homage, exit will be through Gate 3, leading towards Naamghar Path, Ghorool, and R.G. Baruah Road.
- Restrictions:
- All commercial goods vehicles will be restricted on NH-27 and NH-17 between 6 AM, Sept 21 and 11 PM, Sept 21.
- No vehicles will be allowed inside the stadium complex except emergency, essential, and media vehicles (via Gate 1C).
- The service road from Lokhra underbridge to Nalapara will be declared a No Vehicle Parking Zone.
- Parking Arrangements:
Multiple designated parking zones have been allotted across the city for vehicles coming from Khanapara, ISBT, Jalukbari, and other connecting areas, including Lokhra Bihutoli, Cycle Track Saukuchi, Greenwood Resort, ADR Parking, Balaji Parking near ISBT, Sonkuchi Field, and Dakhin Guwahati Jr. College.
Mortal Remains’ Journey
As per the official release, Zubeen Garg’s mortal remains, after reaching Guwahati Airport from Delhi, will first be taken to his residence for his family to spend private moments. Later, the body will be brought to Sarusajai Stadium, where the public will be allowed to pay their tributes.
Appeal for Cooperation
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has urged the public to maintain peace and discipline during the homage. “This is the last chance for all of us to pay respects to Zubeen Daa. Let us ensure the farewell is dignified, reflecting the love and honor he deserves,” he said.
The Guwahati Police has also requested full cooperation from citizens to avoid congestion and ensure a smooth farewell to the King of Hearts of Assam.
