Guwahati, Sept 20: The wave of grief continues to engulf the city as people from Japorigog, Rajgarh, and the bustling Supermarket area gathered this evening to pay heartfelt tributes to Assam’s beloved icon, Zubeen Garg.
In Japorigog, residents lit candles and placed portraits of the singer, while prayers and songs filled the air. At Rajgarh, local youth and shopkeepers joined together, decorating the streets with flowers, lamps, and giant posters of “Zubeen Daa,” as people sang his timeless melodies in unison.
The Supermarket area, one of the busiest hubs of Guwahati, witnessed an extraordinary sight—thousands gathered, holding candles high, chanting “Joi Zubeen Daa” and singing his songs. Buildings were draped with massive banners of the icon, while murals and paintings began to appear across walls, immortalizing the legend in the cityscape.





These gatherings highlight how deeply Zubeen Garg’s music and persona touched every corner of Assam. From students to shopkeepers, artists to professionals, everyone came forward to honor the man who was not just a singer, but an emotion for millions.
As Guwahati mourns, the city is transforming into one large tribute ground, proving once again that Zubeen Daa will remain eternal in the hearts of the people.
