Guwahati Police Issues Traffic Advisory Ahead of ICC Women’s World Cup Matches at Barsapara Stadium

Guwahati, Sept 29: The Guwahati Traffic Police has announced a set of special traffic regulations ahead of the upcoming ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 fixtures at the Assam Cricket Association (ACA) Stadium, Barsapara. The advisory aims to ensure the safety of children, students, senior citizens, and differently-abled persons, while maintaining unhindered passage for ambulances, fire tenders, and school buses during match days.

The restrictions will remain in effect on September 30, October 3, October 7, October 10, and October 29 (subject to Pakistan’s qualification for the semi-finals).

Key Regulations on Vehicle Movement:

1. Heavy and goods vehicles will be restricted on major roads, including B.K. Kakoti Road, A.K. Azad Road, Kula Basumatary Road, and Bishnupur Road during match hours.
2. On match days, A.K. Azad Road (from Lalgenshan Tiniali to Cycle Factory Tiniali) will operate as a one-way route for all vehicles from 11 AM onwards.
3. Similarly, Kula Basumatary Road (Barsapara Road) will be one-way from Barsapara Tiniali to Dhirenpara Tiniali during the same period.
4. Vehicles carrying spectators will be required to park at designated locations, including Champabati Field, Ambari Rangpathar, South Point School, Rolling Mill Field, and Saukuchi Road — each parking area located within 0.8 to 2.5 km from the stadium.
5. Vehicles with VIP car passes will enter the ACA Stadium through Gate No. 1B, while teams and media personnel will use Gate No. 1A.

Entry & Parking Details:

• Spectators can enter via six designated gates:
  • Gate No. 2: Barsapara Tiniali
  • Gate No. 3: R.G. Baruah Path
  • Gate No. 4: Rolling Mill Road
  • Gate No. 5 & 6: Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Path
• Vehicles will be parked on the outer side of Barsapara Road, ensuring smooth pedestrian and emergency movement.
• No vehicles will be allowed to park near the ACA Stadium main gate or on the F.A. Road side.

For Emergency & Local Movement:

The traffic police have clarified that these restrictions will not hamper emergency services, including ambulances, school buses, life-saving vehicles, and essential service vehicles.

Authorities have urged citizens to plan their routes accordingly and cooperate with on-duty personnel to ensure a safe and congestion-free matchday experience for residents and cricket fans alike.
