Guwahati, Sept 28 (Maha Shashti):
As Guwahati gears up for Durga Puja festivities, the Pandu College Gate, American Colony Puja Committee has unveiled its pandal, giving locals a first glimpse into this year’s celebration.
First Impressions
The pandal, though modest in scale compared to some of the city’s grand replicas, is drawing attention for its aesthetic design and cultural flavor. With colorful lighting and detailed decorations, the committee has focused on creating a warm and welcoming ambience for devotees.
Community Spirit at the Forefront
Residents of American Colony highlight that their pandal is less about scale and more about unity and devotion. Families, students, and elders have contributed to the decorations, ensuring that the space feels rooted in local tradition.
A member of the committee shared, “For us, it is about coming together as a community. We wanted to create a pandal where everyone—from children to elders—feels involved.”
Devotees Begin Visiting
As Maha Shashti marks the formal beginning of the festivities, devotees have already started flocking to the pandal to seek the blessings of Maa Durga. Evening hours, with illuminated lights and cultural programs, are expected to be the highlight over the coming days.
Cultural Events Planned
In addition to the rituals, the committee has lined up small-scale cultural events, including local music and dance performances, to engage younger audiences and keep traditions alive.
Key Highlight: The Pandu College Gate, American Colony pandal may not be the largest in Guwahati, but it captures the true essence of Durga Puja faith, community bonding, and cultural pride.
