Guwahati, Oct 20: This year’s Kali Puja celebrations at Bibek Path, near Pashupati Temple in Basistha Chariali, promise to be truly cosmic with a creative theme titled “What’s Your Rashi?” that blends astrology, art, and community spirit.
The pandal, crafted entirely by local residents, celebrates Guwahati’s growing culture of community-driven festivities. Designed around the twelve zodiac signs, it symbolises the universal connection between divine energy and human destiny.
“Each zodiac sign represents a different aspect of life, and we wanted to bring that together through the Goddess’s power. It’s about unity through diversity cosmic and cultural,” said one of the organisers.
From Humble Start to Local Highlight
What began as a small neighbourhood celebration seven years ago has now evolved into one of Basistha’s most-anticipated pujas. The Bibek Path Kali Puja Committee has worked tirelessly to elevate its design and execution each year, this time on an estimated budget of ₹2 lakh.
Residents, youth groups, and local artisans have collaborated for weeks to bring the zodiac-inspired pandal to life, showcasing intricate decorations, astrological motifs, and illuminated installations representing the celestial theme.
A Celebration of Creativity and Faith
The “What’s Your Rashi?” theme has already started drawing attention from nearby localities for its unique artistic concept and community-driven craftsmanship.
Organisers shared that the puja aims to serve as both a spiritual celebration and a showcase of local talent, reinforcing Guwahati’s reputation for hosting some of Assam’s most innovative festive displays.
