Guwahati, September 20:
The Assam government has declared a three-day state mourning from September 20 to 22 to honor the tragic demise of legendary singer, filmmaker, and cultural icon Zubeen Garg, who passed away in Singapore on September 19.
During this period of mourning, all official entertainment programs, government-hosted dinners, and ceremonial events will remain suspended across the state. However, essential service-oriented activities such as health camps, support programs, and urgent administrative functions will continue as scheduled.
