APDCL Portals to Remain Shut for 36 Hours, Guwahati Consumers Advised

All online portals and applications of Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) will remain unavailable from 9 PM on February 28 to 9 AM on March 2 due to system upgrade and cloud migration activities. The 36-hour scheduled shutdown will affect consumers across Assam, including Guwahati.

APDCL announced the downtime in a post on X, stating that the temporary suspension is necessary for ongoing cloud migration work. Consumers in Guwahati have been advised to complete urgent transactions in advance.

APDCL will shut down all public and internal portals from 9 PM on February 28 to 9 AM on March 2 for cloud migration activities. The 36-hour downtime will affect services including ARMS, Consumer Portal, EasyPay, MyBijulee, and BijuleeBandhu. Guwahati consumers are advised to plan payments in advance.

36-Hour Scheduled Shutdown Announced

In its official communication, APDCL said:

“It is to inform our valuable consumers that in connection with the ongoing cloud migration activities, a system downtime of 36 hours has been scheduled from 9 PM on 28/02/2026 to 9 AM on 02/03/2026.”

During this period, all public as well as internal applications will remain temporarily unavailable.

Services That Will Be Affected

The shutdown will impact the following platforms:

  • ARMS
  • Consumer Portal
  • EasyPay
  • MyBijulee
  • BijuleeBandhu
  • Other associated internal systems

For Guwahati residents, this means that electricity bill payments, service requests, complaint registration, and prepaid recharges through these portals will not be accessible during the downtime.

Advisory for Prepaid Consumers in Guwahati

APDCL has specifically requested prepaid consumers to maintain a sufficient balance before the shutdown period to ensure an uninterrupted power supply.

“Prepaid consumers are requested to maintain sufficient balance for continued service. Any inconvenience that may be caused is sincerely regretted,” the company said.

Guwahati, being one of the largest consumer bases under APDCL, may see higher online transaction traffic just before the downtime window.

Why the Shutdown Is Taking Place

The downtime is part of APDCL’s ongoing cloud migration process, aimed at upgrading its digital infrastructure. Cloud migration typically involves transferring systems and data to cloud-based platforms for improved performance, scalability, and security.

Such upgrades often require temporary service suspension to prevent system conflicts or data inconsistencies.

What Guwahati Consumers Should Do Now

  • Clear pending electricity bills before 9 PM on February 28
  • Recharge prepaid meters in advance
  • Note that complaint registration through online portals will be unavailable
  • Use offline contact methods if required during the downtime

Normal services are expected to resume from 9 AM on March 2.
