Guwahati is gearing up to host one of its largest electronic music events yet as MALANG: Into the Sonic Trance comes to the city on January 24–25, 2026, marking a major moment for the region’s underground music scene.
The two-day luxury techno festival will be held at Kiranshree Grand, Guwahati, and promises over 20 hours of non-stop music spread across three immersive stages. Organisers say MALANG is designed to blend high-energy techno with curated visual and sonic experiences, positioning Guwahati firmly on India’s electronic music map.
Headlining the festival is WHO ELSE, an internationally acclaimed techno artist from Barcelona, making this one of the rare occasions an international underground techno act performs in the city.
Alongside the international headliner, MALANG will showcase a strong lineup from India’s underground techno circuit, including Antimatter, Browncoat, Calm Chor, Claudia, Dimple Chawla, Kush The Tempo, Mak, Shaan, Varun Vohra, and Zeeqar.
Music enthusiasts and organisers see the festival as a reflection of Guwahati’s evolving nightlife and youth culture. With large-scale electronic events becoming more frequent, the city is increasingly emerging as a cultural hub for alternative and underground music in the Northeast.
