Guwahati, Oct 14: A group of 12 students from Assam has returned home after completing their first-ever international educational trip to Singapore, marking a milestone in the state’s growing efforts to provide global exposure to young learners.
The week-long trip offered the students an enriching blend of learning and exploration — from visiting top academic institutions and innovation centres to engaging in cultural exchanges that broadened their worldviews.
“It was like a dream come true! We learned about sustainability, technology, and how people from different countries live and think. This trip made us realise how big the world really is,” shared one of the students, still glowing with excitement upon arrival.
Learning Beyond Borders
During their stay, the students visited leading educational and cultural landmarks, attended interactive workshops, and met young innovators from other nations. The experience, organisers said, was designed to nurture global perspectives while fostering pride in their Assamese roots.
Apart from academic exposure, the itinerary included cultural sightseeing, allowing students to explore Singapore’s blend of tradition and modernity from the stunning Gardens by the Bay to the vibrant Little India district, and even a visit to Singapore Zoo and Science Centre Singapore.
A Journey to Remember
This initiative, part of an emerging network of global youth programmes connecting Assam to international opportunities, has been hailed as a “life-changing experience” by participants and educators alike.
“For many of these students, it was their first flight, their first passport, and their first look at how global education systems operate,” said one accompanying mentor. “They are returning more confident, inspired, and motivated to dream bigger.”
