Guwahati, Sept 28: Among the many creative pandals across the city this Durga Puja, Bishnupur has grabbed headlines with its breathtaking “Royal Atlantis” stone-themed pandal, one of the most unique concepts this year.
The pandal recreates the grandeur of the mythical lost city of Atlantis, blending stone-carved aesthetics, intricate sculptures, and majestic royal motifs. With dimly lit pathways, water-inspired designs, and towering stone facades, the setup evokes the feel of an ancient underwater kingdom rising to welcome the Goddess.
Organizers of the Bishnupur Puja Committee said the idea was to present something never seen before in Guwahati’s puja circuit. “Our goal was to combine mythology with fantasy architecture. The stone theme symbolizes strength and permanence, while the ‘Royal Atlantis’ touch adds a magical aura to the celebrations,” an organizer shared.
Visitors have already started flocking to Bishnupur, calling the pandal a must-visit attraction of Durga Puja 2025. For many, it’s not just a pandal but an artistic spectacle, offering both devotion and a visual feast.
