Guwahati Traffic Police Issues Advisory for Durga Puja 2025: Key Restrictions from Sept 28 – Oct 3

Guwahati, Sept 27:
To ensure public safety and smooth vehicular movement during Durga Puja celebrations, the Guwahati Traffic Police has announced a series of restrictions effective from September 28 to October 3, 2025. The order aims to protect vulnerable road users, children, students, women, senior citizens, and differently-abled persons while ensuring unhindered access for emergency vehicles such as ambulances and fire tenders.

Restrictions on Goods Vehicles

• All goods-carrying vehicles will only be allowed to enter the city between 4:00 AM and 12:00 PM during the Puja period.
• From 12 Noon to 4 AM, entry of heavy vehicles into the city will remain restricted.

Area-Wise Traffic Restrictions (2:00 PM – 2:00 AM)

1. Dispur PS Area

• Dr. R.P. Road will be one-way from Ganesh Mandir towards Ganeshguri Flyover.
• No entry from Zoo Road side or Service Road (near Ganeshguri Whole Sale Market) towards R.P. Road/Zoo Road.

2. Basistha PS Area

• Pir Azan Fakir Road (Beltola Market Road) one-way towards Jaynagar Chariali.
• No entry from Jaynagar Chariali to Beltola Tiniali.
• Bishnu Rabha Path one-way from Beltola Tiniali towards Bhetapara Chariali.
• No entry from Beltola Tiniali towards Basistha Chariali.
• AG Office by-lane will be one-way towards Saurav Nagar and Tripura Gali.

3. Bharalumukh PS Area

• No entry from Fatasil Chariali, Railway Gate Nos. 6, 7, 8 and Sat Jalukbari Road towards Kumarpara Paanch Ali.
• One-way from Fatasil Chariali towards Chabipool.
• RK Chowdhury Road will be one-way towards KRC Road.
• Parking restrictions on A.T. Road, D.G. Road and KRC Road.

4. Jalukbari Area

• No goods vehicles on D.G. Road from Jalukbari Rotary towards Panbazar, Fatasil and Bharalumukh.

5. Jalukbari PS Area (Pandu)

• One-way from Adabari Tiniali to Pandu Ghat, Pandu Port Road.
• No vehicle from Maligaon Chariali to Pandu Borbazar Road.

6. Panbazar PS Area

• No vehicles from MS Road towards Gate No. 4.

7. Chandmari / Geetanagar PS

• No entry from Anuradha Point to Hatigarh Chariali.
• Vehicles allowed from Hatigarh Chariali only.

8. Noonmati PS Area

• No entry from Bandana Point to Refinery Gate via SBI Gali.

9. Latasil PS

• No entry from FC Road (High Court – War Memorial) to Latasil Chariali.

Bus Restrictions

City Buses

• Several diversions via Basistha, Ganeshguri, Paltan Bazar, AT Road, Bharalumukh, Maligaon, Chandmari, Zoo Road, Rajdhani Masjid, and others.
• Key routes: Basistha to Dharapur, Adabari to Lalmati, Panjabari to Dharapur, Hatigaon to Dharapur.

Inter-District Buses

• ASTC buses from Lower Assam to Paltanbazar side will not be allowed via the Jalukbari side and will be diverted to ISBT.
